But before we dive into the tips first, you need to have a specific reason for studying in the early morning.
So, why you want to study in the early morning?
If you want to wake up in the early morning and study, then there must be any specific reason behind it.
Maybe you want to study in the morning for your exam or else maybe you can’t study at the night, or else you want to get lots of benefits while studying in the morning (benefits have been discussed at the end).
Back in my days, I used to wake up early and study because I couldn’t study at night and wanted to become a morning bird.
So clear your reason for studying in the morning. Until you have a specific reason, it will be difficult for you to wake up early.
How to wake up early to study:
So let’s dive into the tips that you need to follow for waking up early and studying…
1: Take enough sleep at night
If you want to wake up early to study, then first you should take enough sleep at night, and for this, sleep early.
That means if you want to wake up at 4 AM then sleep at 10 PM because 6 hrs sleep is enough for a student. But if you complete your sleep in over 6 hrs, then sleep before 10 PM.
If you can’t sleep well because of the noisy world then must use an earplug if you don’t have one, then you can check it out here cheap and best earplugs. Or, if you want to more take care of your sleep use a noise reduction earphone that must be useful for your study too.
Here are the best headphones that you can buy if you don’t have them:
- COWIN E7 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones ($49.99)
- For more budget, COWIN SE7 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones ($109.99)
Trust me, when you sleep early and complete your sleep, then you feel fresh after getting up in the early morning and will enjoy your study without feeling sleepy or tired.
So, if you’re a night owl and want to become a morning person, then make a habit to sleep early. But in any case (during the exam time), if you have to sleep late and need to wake up early and study more, then try to follow the next tips.
2: Leave your phone before bed
Many youngsters and students have this problem when they are about to sleep then; first, they use their phones for 1-2 hours and then they sleep. Isn’t it?
But if I say honestly, then you should leave your phone half-hour before sleep.
Because when you use your phone for a couple of hours just before sleeping, then it will not only affect your eyes also you won’t be able to sleep early and wake up early.
According to Healthline.com, It has clearly explained, How blue lights from our phone may permanently damage our eyes? I must recommend you to read this article.
So it’s better for you, to leave your phone half an hour before you sleep. If you can’t get rid of phone addiction, then read my guide on how to avoid phones.
3: Repeat in your mind, I have to wake up early
If you’re dreaming of waking up without an alarm, then this tip could be more helpful to you.
As this point says, you might have understood what I’m trying to say. And you must be thinking, why I am saying this and how it could be helpful to wake up?
Well, this works mainly on our subconscious mind. When we say something with our subconscious mind, then we can do it, but if we commit something with the conscious mind, we can’t make it.
And if you have an idea, then the subconscious mind gets active with the Hammering process, which says when you say something again and again with the mind then it happens.
So, when you sleep then think about your goal and study and then say to your mind, I have to wake up early for my study and I’ll make it. And trust me, if you do as I say, you can wake up by yourself before the alarm goes off.
But it doesn’t mean you should not set an alarm, even use it, as my next point says.
4: Use an irritating Alarm
Most people use alarms for waking up, and I am sure you too do. But many times, when it comes to waking up, either you sleep with the alarm or else you snooze it many times.
And this happens because you might use an interesting alarm tone, and you keep your alarm close to you (maybe in bed where you sleep).
But if I say literally, use such an alarm tone which can irritate your sleep and force you to wake up for study. And place your alarm across the room or away from your bed, where you have to leave your bed for switching it off.
If you have a Sunrise Alarm, then must use it. The major benefit of this alarm is it helps you to wake naturally with virtual sunlight. If you don’t have and you can afford it, then invest in yourself and buy one. Here I got the best sunrise alarm ($42.98) for myself.
And if you use a phone alarm, then I must recommend you to use an application, i.e. Alarmy-Morning Alarm (not sponsored) which is free and very effective.
The best part of this application is it has a louder tone without snoozing option. Even this app gives you a mission (take pictures or solve maths problems) and until you’ll complete the mission, you can’t off your alarm.
So choices are in your hands, use the alarm as you like but always keep your alarm across the room.
5: Think about your goal after waking up
Now after applying all tips, you may wake up, but it’s difficult to say you will leave your bed and get up. Isn’t it?
So for this problem, when you wake up, drink cold water instead of tea, coffee, or something else. Coffee is excellent after getting up but a glass of cold water could be more good to break your sleep and you won’t feel sleepy anymore.
And when you wake up and still want to sleep more, then think about your goal, your performance in class, and your study level for five minutes.
I’m sure, if you’re serious about your goal and study, then you won’t make any excuses for not getting up.
6: Don’t just start studying after waking up
After getting up you don’t have to just start studying. I know your purpose is studying only, but when you wake up, then instead of studying first, be ready to study and do some exercises first. Because exercise before the study may enhance learning and stimulate new neural connections.
But it doesn’t mean you should go to the GYM and do exercises for 1-2 hours. A small workout for 10-20 minutes at your home or a small brisk walk for 10 minutes would be enough before the study.
So after some exercises or meditation, you should start your study, you’ll have better power.
7: Familiar with the benefits of waking up early
Most of the people who get success today have one common point in all. They all wake up in the early morning.
