Because here I am going to tell you about 5 ways to join Indian Navy after 12th along with their Position, Eligibility, Work profile, Salary and others information.
The first two that I am going to discuss here is Technical Entry to join Indian Navy as an Officer while the other three are Non- Technical Entry to join Navy as an Sailor cadet.

1. NDA/NA Entry :
You might have heard about NDA before. But Do you know NDA (National Defence Academy) is a Tri-force Academy.
It means after Qualifying NDA you can join Indian Army , Navy and Airforce as an Officer, according to your merit and interest.
NDA Exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice in a year as a NDA-l and NDA-ll. And these Vacancies come in Dec-Jan and Aug-Sept.
This is a Technical Entry and only Male candidate can apply for this Entry.
The Age limit of Student for applying form should be 15.5 years to 18.5 years.
And If you are 12th appearing student with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) or 12th Pass student with PCM then you can apply.
Because only PCM stream’s Male students are eligible for this Technical entry.
After qualifying NDA, Students are trained in the Academy for three years culminating in graduation with B.A or B.Sc or B.Cs (Computer Science) degree of Jawaharlal Nehru University.
NDA Exam is taken in two phase – First one is Written Exam (or Online exam) and the another one is SSB (Services Selection Board) interview.
So if want to join Indian Navy with Technical entry as an Officer after 12th then you should try this way once.
2. (10+2) B.tech Entry :
This is also a Technical entry to join Indian Navy as an Officer. For this entry, Vacancies come twice in a year.
In this entry, Only Male candidate can apply who has given JEE Mains Entrance Exam in same year in which they’re applying form. No matter How much percentile you get in exam.
Students ( only Male) must be Enrolled and Appeared in JEE Mains Entrance Examination.
And Students should have Passed 10+2 Exam with minimum 70% Marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), each subject. And Minimum 50% Marks should have in English at Class 10th & Class 12th Level Examination.
And minimum Height for applying form should be 157 CMS.
There is No written(or, Online) Exam take through this way but You have to pass SSB (Services Selection Board) interview to join Navy.

After Qualifying through this Entry Students join the prestigious Indian Naval Academy, Kerala for a four year degree course under the 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme.
3. Navy SSR and AA :
The third one is Sailor Entry. Lets dicuss one by one….
SSR (Senior Secondary Recruitment):
This is a Direct entry and which is conducted by Indian Navy with twice (Dec-Jan and Jun – Aug) in a year.
There are two phase of exam in this entry. First one is Online exam and the other phase is PFT (Physical Fitness Test).
After Qualifying both Exam Students can go for Training of 22 weeks and after that they can join Navy as an Sailor.
During Training of Sailor the Salary would be 10k-15k while after Training as an Sailor the Salary would be 40k-50k.
The Age for applying form should be 16-19 years. And You should Qualified in 12th with Mathematics, Physics and one more subject (Che/Bio/or Com).
A SSR Cadet Works on Modern ships, Guided Missile Destroyers, Electrical Power System and others while their Jobs can be done in Radars, Sonars, or Communication or Firing of weapons and rockets.
AA (Artificer Apprentice):
This is also a Sailor Entry and In this Entry, Vacancy date, Exam process is as same as SSR but the Training period of an AA cadet is 9 weeks and the Salary would be more than SSR cadet.
All condition as same as SSR but Students should Qualify 12th with at least 60% marks.
An AA cadet can work on Steam powered machinery, Diesel and Gas turbines, Computer, Radio or Avionics equipments, Electrical power system and other Complex systems.
4. Navy Sports Quota Entry :
If you are a Sports person and want to join Indian Navy then this is the best opportunity for you.
So Are you excited ?
Indian Navy has given an opportunity to become a Sailor cadet for those students who have participated at International/ National/ or State level tournament of Sports such as Basket ball, Cricket, Football, Boxing, Gymnastics, Kabaddi, Volley ball and others.
But only Male candidate are eligible to apply for this Entry with the Age of 16-20 years.
There is No written Exam (or Online Exam) for this entry after Qualifying in Merit list Students can join Navy as a Sailor.
The Works and Duties of a Sailor, I have explained above.
5. Navy MR Entry :
Navy MR (Matric Recruit) is basically a Matric level entry. So as a 10th Pass student, 12th Pass students can also apply.
A MR cadet mainly works as a Chef, whose duties are to Prepare Food as per Menu, Accounting of Ration and funds , serve food and maintaining cleanness and others as per service requirement.
The Exam process and Age are as same as a Sailor Entry but in this entry syllabus would be on 10th basis.
The Training period of a MR cadet is 14 weeks. During training MR cadet would be required to serve food in the officers messes as a waiter.
Besides of these, they would also be Trained for On board shipping duties, Arms handling, Landing and boarding parties.
